Well after a 1-5 start at home, the Bobcats hit the road and take 2 of 3 at Bowling Green! Admittedly, it appears BG has taken a step back from the last few successful seasons, but we will take any series win of any kind at this point. Best of all, it was behind solid pitching allowing 15 runs over the 3 games. Ball State and Kent coming up, quite possibly the best 2 in the conference. Winning 2 of 6 is a good goal.

Bobcats are 3 - 4 vs teams with former Bobcats (NIU & BGSU) and 0-3 with zero (WMU). Does not bode well for Ball State & Kent but good for Miami series. The CMU, Akron, UMASS run will tell us a lot. Anyway, good to see them win a MAC series before the last series of the year like it took until last year. Nice to see some bright spots and hopefully see some more stepping up.

Ball State sure was a tough series. As noted no hit Friday & 6 errors Saturday. Kent State next could be ugly especially after as hot as they have been and looking for blood after losing 2 of 3 to Miami last weekend. Really tough to win games with a double-digit team ERA and only 3 of our 19 pitchers with a sub 7.00 ERA.

Great to beat Marshall, a non-terrible Sun Belt team and local rival. Completely dominated in a sweep by Kent, allowing 42 runs over the 3 games. Another tough one with Miami coming up this weekend.

Agree. Going on the road to play at CMU not the most fun. CMU should be a good intermediate team. Really need to see them get one and competitive at a minimum for the others. Think the ante goes up to 2 games vs. Akron and UMASS

Interesting series in Mt Pleasant. Got run ruled on Friday, Saturday was an extra inning loss in which we blew a 3-1 lead in the 9th, then we run ruled them on Sunday. Would've have been really nice to come away with a series win.

With 4 series left in the MAC, the playoff teams are about as set as possible as there is a huge divide between 1-6 and 7-12.

Bobcats are in last place at 5-16, but have a great chance to crawl out of the cellar versus 7-14 Akron at home this weekend, then at 7-14 Umass the following. We also finish at 6-15 EMU. Only other series is Toledo. Taking all that together, I think we have a good chance to end the season with some good vibes with this schedule. I am hoping we can have a winning record in these last 12, something like 7-5 to finish 12-21 and out of last place. Baby steps.

Unfortunately possibly our 4 best hitters are seniors that won't be in the plans next year - Shepherd, Hill, Henson & Harmon have all been solid. Cam Boyd has been our best power hitter but plate discipline is lacking, but hope he will be back for his senior year.

On the pitching side, I think there is reason to be excited about Evan Lichtenauer. He isn't blowing guys away but he's throwing strikes and laboring thru as a true freshman. Some decent work out of the bullpen, led by Dillon Masters a proud 4 year Bobcat. Otherwise nothing is jumping out at me to be encouraged by on the pitching side.

Swept at home by the previously 7-14 Zips. Nearly salvaged the finale but imploded in the 8th to blow a 5 run lead.

The Bobcats are now 1-15 at home and on a 12 game home losing streak.

It was tough to watch, Andrew. A lot of alumni were there and many frustrated to witness a team like Akron own us. However, to a man, we know it isn't going to be easy to rebuild this program. It would be tough even before NIL and the portal. Add the fact they team is resorting to a Go Fund Me campaign, and that tells the story. I couldn't get as many mid-to-late 80's teammates there as I had hoped but several gave some money to the program.

Craig Moore destroyed the program. Huge rebuild of every facet is a tall order. The crowdfunding is an every year thing. Coach See is already making a difference on that front with raising $46k this year vs 2025 under $8K and 2024 $14k. So definitely moving in the right direction. As for the production on the field�this year was always going to be a wash and really on Moore. But has been worse than I had hoped. Will see how these last 12 games go. Expectations for next year start moving up. Hope to see some Rob Smith type production. I believe Smith had 14 wins his 1st season and then 11 wins year 2 but then made a regional 2 of the next 3 seasons by winning the MAC tournament. I would expect a near full gutting of the team again this year with maybe 10 guys at most being back from this roster.

Dropped 2 of 3 at Umass. Shockingly only 21 runs scored between the 2 teams over the 3 games. Evan Lichtenauer threw a gem in Sunday's 1-0 loss. He is having a good enough true freshman season to attract attention, but he is not an overpowering pitcher (only 15 K in 50 IP) so I am hoping he sticks around here and we can have a solid starter that we know will throw strikes.
