The Athletic today published this chart of what March Madness would look like for NCAA football.  I thought it might make fodder for some pre-spring practice "hot stove league" type discussion.

This is not far off from my G5 desires.

Unfortunately, the G5 is sustained by the P4 buy games, so we can't really just go all-in on a conference-only schedule, followed by potentially 5 additional games (for the winner).

So maybe if the P4 collectively went to a 10 game schedule, two P4 buy games + 8 conference, eliminate the need for people like OU to schedule the SCLSU Mud Dogs to fill the schedule.

At the end of the regular season, toss the best 32 teams... I asked ChatGPT to cook up a little something. I dont know how to insert photos, but this is pretty fun:
