Was definitely not expecting Will Kacmarek to get drafted in the 3rd round but hey, got us a nice shoutout on the broadcast.

I said for two years he’s positioned himself, and though he didn’t catch a ton of footballs, he showed a lot of value in many other ways.

We could roll back the post of several who stated he could prove his draft stock here by being a big receiver as a TE. Those folks just don’t get it. Kaz fits a niche, and being someone that’s watched him in practice, scrimmages and games the past few years, he’s a worthy pick at that spot.

Did he earn a degree from Ohio? Does he outwardly give us credit?

No idea, but that had no effect on Rece Davis shouting us out and giving us some credit.

Edit: Will actually has Ohio Football and Ohio State Football tagged in his Instagram bio.

Tremendous blocker. A lot of teams run two TE sets now with one bully and one Njoku. 22 TE’s drafted. Highest in the last decade. I stopped looking after 2015. Highest I saw was 19 a few years ago. Amazing for him. Might seem a little high but he’s an exceptional blocker with above average hands. That’ll get you drafted every year.

I won't be surprised if we have another ex Bobcat TE drafted in a couple years. I felt like the Kacmarek departure was a gut punch, then Mason Williams steps right in. Another very good blocker, maybe better pass catcher.

And I believe the Browns have signed the BGSU tight end first team all-MAC kid giving them two BGSU tight ends on the roster (for now at least). (And a Toledo safety)

Needless to say, they got a good one. Maybe I missed something entirely, but a highly productive safety who can get up close to the line and use his strength and quickness as well?

24 reps on the bench press, would have ranked first among safeties at the Combine... by six reps. 10-7 in the broad jump, would have tied him for fifth. 4.58 would set him at 10th among LB, 15th among safeties. Couple that with being a two-time captain, high academics, nearly 200 tackles, jacked to the gills... color me still shocked.

Kam Wright signed with the Wheeling Miners in the AAL (Arena Football)

Pierre Kemeni drafted in the 4th round of the CFL draft by the BC Lions.

One day I'll stop saying "I'm surprised...", but not today.

I'm surprised Tank wasn't taken the in the CFL draft? Do you have to enter your name and he chose not to go that route? Waiting for the Columbus Aviators to call?

Only Canadian-born players are eligible for the CFL draft. Pierre Kemeni and Jett Elad (Played at OU from 19-21) are both Canadian and were drafted in the 4th and 2nd rounds, respectively. American players are not subject to the draft and are instead inducted via the negotiation list process.

Nice Fun Fact. I did not know that. Interesting.

The timing of the new UFL is a little odd with games happening as we speak, I wonder if any are eligible to join a few months into the season?

I saw a clip of one of the higher ups at the UFL talking to Pat McAfee yesterday about the possibility of ringing in Diego Pavia after he wasn’t drafted and his response was basically “we can have him playing this weekend!” So I’m sure they could if there was a need, but I don’t exactly think our guys have the star power to knock another guy off the roster halfway through the season.
